Aller-Polo
(the Big Swamp)
Expensive Sandbox
Snakes and company created, at vast
expense, the big swamp or Aller-Polo in the local
language. In fact Snake built it as his own amusement
park, claiming that it was important for the success
of the experiment.
Part of the excuse was that the sheep
would tend to drown in the mud when they’d came to
drink, and that in turn would make that whole part of
the desert into an “unsafe” shepherding area. Which
would then pull the shepherds into the “safe”
shepherding area (a bit to the west) from which you
could better see the fake “bite” at the top of the
pyramid.
A very shallow excuse, of course, but at Snakes’ rank,
this was more than enough.
We Went Out and Discovered a Swamp Monster
A Loch-Ness style legend developed
when several youngsters were peeping through the Black
Gates at night, out of mere bored curiosity. They
discovered what seemed to them a dragonlike or
snakelike monster splashing in the mud. That was
actually Snakes in his real skin, resting in his
favorite mud (it’s not the exquisite mud like back
home but what can you expect of a stupid desert
inhabited by a bunch of morons…)
The elderly leaders of the Wise Men Council wanted to
suppress the sassy curiosity and sent the youngsters
who have reported the monster to “evaluation” in the
Zone, usually to be followed by “re-education” and
closer monitoring/control via their glands.

Snakes finds out that he’s been seen; he is
quite amused and even sees a SECURITY
ADVANTAGE in the “Mud Monster Legend.”
Good ole’ disinformation, why not!

Therefore he reinstates those teenagers back in their
tribes, to spread around the horror stories. He only
implants (with the help of Billy G. of course) a
mechanism to prevent full exposure of the truth.
He makes sure to splash in his mud
only at nights and only after he made sure that no
paparazzi is waiting him in the Black Gates with a
camera or projector or something.
For that purpose he installed two surveillance cameras
at the corners of the exit hall just before the gates.
Not with his own hands! There are slave workers for
that, to drill into walls and get their hands dirty.
