War, who is it good for?!
One of the darkest sides of the experiment was the
bringing of ethnic groups to loathe each other.
“Divide & Conquer” was an idea brought forth by
Gay Trenzich and presented as a very modern scientific
concept, supported by the latest Psychographic
studies. Poison Snakes is unwilling to admit that he’s
too dumb to know this intuitively. He demands to see
the studies.
No problem. Trenzich presents to him a label DIVIDE & CONQUER that
she printed in a jiffy, glued to her mindless
doctorate work from her days in Oxfordicious 22. She
throws away the original cover page into her office
garbage pail.
That cover page she threw away proudly displayed the
original title of her work:

The content, mighty sillier than the title, was
smeared across 795 that nobody ever bothered to read.
Not even Trenzich! She copied portions of older works,
newspaper clippings and roommate classifieds, added
weather graphs and partial blueprints of sewage
systems – and was graded “Excellent Plus Plus with
Flying Colors.”
Snakes flips the pages, fakes a smart face and
approves the use of her methods.
“I’ve always known this!” he says and nods his head,
“I’m glad that science discovered it at last.”
In the past, the desert tribes used to always live in
peace with deep mutual respect, although they never
merged into one unit. Each tribe loved their own
culture and legacy, but at the same time were always
proud to be good neighbors for the “brother tribes” AND EDUCATED THEIR
CHILDREN TO DO THE SAME.
This is the place to mention that the ethnic gap grew
up (deliberately raised!) between the Black Skins and
Brown Skins who dwelled in the Broken Pyramid and were
part of the experiment. Remember, the Cave Tribe that
was small, distant and stealthy, was found unworthy of
the experiment and left alone. They had no part in
this issue.

Trenzich & company started sending racist
messages, defaming each “race” to their neighbor. The
messages emphasized differences in skin color, ear
size and the various dancing moves. Of course, the
dancing moves of the other “race” are principally
wrong and indicate limited and non creative brains.
Tiny conflicts you will always find between people
living together. Supervisors appointed by the
Psychographs started wandering about in the market
with cameras in their hands. The technology of
photography, as I said, was suppressed as a civil
activity and permitted only to the Security Services
and above-the-crowd inspectors (What hole did those
pop out of? Who knew them in the old world?)
The inspectors documented every case of accidental
push of an elbow, slight argument between merchants,
somebody stepped on another’s toe during rush hour, a
toddler biting on a fresh tomato and squirting juice
on some lady’s white dress, things of this nature.
They collected every photo that supposedly indicated
inter-racial conflicts, enlarged it to poster size and
handed it over to the religious leaders of the
“victim” tribe.
The religious tribal elders found this to support
their domination, which they felt was too weak. They
therefore gathered mass sermons, in which they
outlawed inter-racial contact and displayed the
enlarged photos of the “severe offenses” by the other
tribe. They preached that romantic ties between people
of different skin colors were now (and always have
been) unforgivable crimes against “our ways of life.”
 From day to day the artificial gap widened and
supplied more oil to the fire: from accidental splash
on a dress, youngsters switched to insults and then
began throwing rotten fruits. If somebody of the wrong
skin color stepped on your toe, you had to react with
verbal violence; else you’ll be declared a dishonored
lowlife. The verbal violence in many cases escalated
into physical violence that spread around the market,
ruined a day of work and lots of merchandise.
This whole scene forced the community leaders to
decide on separation, creating double economy and
migration of households until the pyramid’s population
completely divided in two. The Brown Skins now lived
in the upper floors and the Black Skins settled in the
lower levels, closer to the market and warehouses. Do
you consider the upper levels to be the better living
quarters? Ever tried climbing by foot all the way to
level 12-C of the lift-void pyramid?
Cultural exchanges and inter-racial contacts turned
rare – and strictly forbidden!! Separation was now a fact of life between two “races” – races
that once were a single, unified race…
This also provided excellent living conditions to
lawyers and policemen, professions that previously had
no right to exist.
And now, whoever dared protesting the lie in the
conflict and tried to warn that it actually originated
from the Psychographs Zone, was himself declared a
dangerous anti-social and sent to re-education, under
force, immediately.
Sorry, sorry, not immediately, but after a 20-second
process of “reading his rights” and another 60-second
“fair trial” in which the judge receives a ready-made
“Statement of Claims.” At the bottom of this form
there are two empty boxes: one to mark ‘Guilty’ and
the other for His Honor’s signature. No spaces for
‘Not Guilty’ or any additional comments or
considerations. Everything already written down in
small dense print, without a spot left for changes or
additions.
Back in the Zone,
several lunatics lounged in their fancy
office, browsed the reports and raised a toast
to victory.
 
Only, they had no clue about the bizarre
“spark” from that sunny morning a few years
back, the spark that was now slowly eating
away into their hatred machine, threatening to
set it all on fire…
